MILTONGREEN SPECIAL EVENT SERIES

Educational EVENT:

COMMUNITY AND NATURALized GARDENS TOUR:
a walking tour in a small area of Milton.       Sunday July 10, 2:00 – 4:00 pm

 
MILTONGREEN and the Halton Environmental Network are pleased to announce an opportunity to learn about                
     1.    Community Gardens – public gardens tended by local citizens. Noel Walsh will lead this part of the tour                                                  
                    and
      2.    Naturalization Gardening – creating low maintenance gardens using plant species that are local to this area.   Learn from our local expert SEAN JAMES, you may have seen him at Canada Blooms, on TV or read his newspaper column.

                i.        The Tour will start at the Police Station Community Gardens (S of Milton Mall) at 1pm
                ii.        Then we’ll walk (or carpool for those who prefer) to Sean James’ garden at:
                            469 Woodward (N side East of Ontario St.) and tour his naturalized property.


               iii.        Then we’ll walk around the corner to Shirley Steeves garden at: 288 Bousfield Crescent.


Refreshments will be available here.

 As we walk the route, Sean will provide informative commentary about various gardens along the way.

Your tour ticket will be entered into a draw for your own Eco Garden Consultation with Sean James (generously provided by Fern Ridge Landscaping).

Each attendee will receive a FREE native plant to start or add to their very own naturalized garden.

Tickets: $10 (minimum donation) OR join Miltongreen for $15 an Adult or $20 a Family and attend for free.
